No media but it's really 64 gig. I scanned with the FirstChip tool, took 3 hours and that took it from fake 2TB to "no media".

Can it be fixed to be a 64 gig drive?

Does nothing. Out and back in, still shows the drive with no media.

    1) Use the latest ChipGenius (Database 2019-12-29)
    2) For me this chip ID was shown when my FC1179 was in testmode
    3) Use the FC1179 MPTool with mode2, can take 2-3 hours but it will retest every bit of the flash and it will be OK afterwards
    ...
    On a Windows computer
    - Download Chipg.... We determine by plugging the flash drive into the computer, the controller model is FirstChip chipYC2019.
    - Download FC1179 MPTool .
(please note that the archive is password protected, but the password is specified at the download location) and
    - make the first pass in mode 2 (Stad csan) it took me 5-6 hours.

Everything went 100%, but the result was "fail port so-and-so".
    - I made a second pass in mode 4(Clear+Factory scan) and the flash drive began to be recognized by Windows.

Then I stuck it in the laptop Маc через , use TimeMachine (TM)
The 60GB backup took about 4 hours to create.

Where do I set the mode or whatever? I click Settings and it wants a password.

There is no password, it's blank, just hit enter when asked to enter password.
In settings, make sure under (Scan setting) to set level 4 (Clear Factory scan).

I did get it to work as a 64 GB, but it's a garbage chip. Keeps coming up with failures when attempting to write anything very large to it, and it's extremely slow. I suspect it's a chip that failed QA and should have been destroyed, but "fell off a truck" somewhere to be programmed as a "2 TB".

Topic summary

A USB mass storage device with a FirstChip chipYC2019 controller and Hynix NAND flash (Flash ID AD7E280B00C0) originally reported as a fake 2TB drive was scanned using the FirstChip tool. The scan took three hours and changed the device status from fake 2TB to "no media," despite the device being physically 64GB. Attempts to reset the device by reconnecting it did not restore media recognition. The user sought instructions on configuring the device mode or repairing it to function as a genuine 64GB drive but encountered a password prompt when accessing settings. No clear solution or password was provided in the responses. References to external forums and tools related to chipYC2019 were mentioned but without detailed guidance.
