i have been building many different projects using pic microcontrollers,, 16f84 and 16f877. most of these projects use sound,as well as poll switches and turn devices on and off. i have been using isd 2560 sound chips for the sound but they are low quality, sound and are discontinued. so i want a chip or a module that has high sound quality 12khz or higher sampling rate and has 60 or more seconds of record time. and last but not least it must be parallel addresable. i want to just send a number out of a port to a sound chip and hit the ce.
i have found many that will work using I2c or other serial proticals,, dont want to have to rearrange how i write code and besides my controller is very busy doing other things and dont want to tie it up with all the crap you have to do for serial. any ideas?
