capacitor charging and very low sine input

Hi everybody.


Let say we have series RC circuits with R=1k ohm and C= 1 mF. and AC signal as input with vp of 10 volts and time-period of 20 seconds

So Rc time constant=1 sec. That is the time capacitor takes to be charged 63 percent of steady state vale.

5Rc=5seconds That is the time Capacitor will takes to be fully charged.
My question will capacitor charge to 10 volts in 5RC time, considering it will take 10 seconds for ac signal to reach its peak value 10 volt?

You've got the time constant concept, but don't forget that is a response to a step voltage input. Your 0.05Hz sine wave input is not a step voltage input, or even close. If the input voltage is changing slower that the circuit time constant, the circuit obviously can't predict the final voltage and reach it sooner. Your capacitor voltage in this case will pretty much track your input sine wave.
