Energy mangment divice

I'm a undergraduate electrical and electronics student and i want make a simple AC ammeter with digital display for home devices like iron , TV etc. And then as amendment I want to make a log book with help of micro controller to save my record.
I need your help for circuit designing , component selection and micro controller interface with ammeter circuit .

Maybe you should try to learn designing circuit s for ampere measurements yourself?

As per Per (couldn't resist you need to ask more specific questions on elements of your project. To answer such a generalized question is tantamount to doing the whole project for you!

Get started and when you get stumped, ask away... can't guarantee the "answer" won't be a boot in the pants to go crack a textbook (depends on weather the question appears to reveal a lack of effort on your part, or not).

So, dive in and send up a signal when you're stuck.

BTW: I wouldn't call your device an "Energy Management Device" because it doesn't manage energy, it monitors it and eventually will log it. If the data is used to manage energy, that will not be done by the device. The device will merely supply the information used to manage the energy.

I suggest, as part of your education, you learn to be more precise with your language (and your thinking).

The devices that measure individual appliances tend to be small and not interconnected. The whole house monitor systems tend to interconnected but only measure distribution circuits. I know this has been done down to the level you speak of but it may be that those are custom installations and may not be considered cost effective for mass markets. I learned something as well. I knew there were wired and wireless schemes to do this but one of the systems uses the home's power distribution system as it's data wires.
