voltage source with +30v and -30v

Hello All,
I want to ask you how can I make a DC voltage source that supplies me with +30v and -30v,
and the input is 220v AC .
I mean what components I need and all of these thing and the graph how to connect all these stuffs with each other.

* Space requirements (i.e. maximum/minimum footprint and/or dimensions)?
* Level of reliability (e.g. will it be used to power a medical device or other such device that has a life or death impact)?

Really I don't know the maximum current requirement, I need that voltage source because I have a homework to do and it's to make an Amplifier ( as you I'm still student ) and I found a circuit and i did ,but what I need now is the voltage source with +30 and -30.

If you're a student, they're probably expecting something that's a basic linear supply. Here's an example +/-V supply that you can design using off-the-shelf components.

For your specific design you need to

* Size your transformers for the desired power requirements of the supply
* Come up with the proper input/output voltage (turns ratio)
* Calculate capacitance for desired ripple voltage based on max load conditions


This is a fun and rewarding supply to build in real life, and it works great for a bench supply that doesn't need to be compact in size.

As the 7800 series doesn't go up to 30 Volts, try the LM317 and LM337 adjustable regulators. Look up the data sheets to learn how to use them. You can easily adapt the circuit provided by Joe.
