Hello all,
I am a new (~1 year of experience) electrical engineer working as the only EE at my company. While I am lucky in that this affords me the freedom to pick my own tools unilaterally, I am unlucky in that we do not have any.
Currently, I am looking in to electronic circuit simulation packages for my company to use. I'm hoping to pick one that will be good for the company and, more importantly, will look good on my resume going forward. It will be used for digital prototyping of small scale projects, mostly one offs, both digital and analog.
Any reccomendations? I've been told LabView is very common in the industry and is good for digital prototyping. I've also used a lot of Altera software (ModelSim, Quartus II) in the past. Should I go the route of a Verilog or VHDL based simulator? Does anyone out there actually use those languages?
Thanks!
