Use a PC with SAPI then address a serial port is the another method of doing this or use the parallel port
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=10121 You can get SAPI Sound Application Program Interface from here ( free for download ) then you can start working with this in VB or Java or C or C++
Works ok I’ve tried this quite impressive but still not absolutely 100% but then No SAPI app will ever be that good It was always pretty hit and miss even the modern day packages are hit and miss
Right back to the days of the first mobile telephones by Motorola , NEC using Speech recognition for auto dialing etc
You had to voice train them what a performance that was Still is !!
Its Ok with short words, too long or not sharp enough doesn’t work but I have tried this example LIGHTS , OFF , ON, DARK as long as you keep the words short and aggressive it works and you have to keep the amplitude of your voice and tone constant to a certain degree
Any background noise interferes with this I can remember the directors all ranting and raving about this and the bitching like mad because they had to spend hours in the car trying to get this bloody thing to work
Don’t expect 100 % out of it you never will get that but its worth playing with just for fun and to see how it works clever but not that clever enough yet
