I am trying to build a voltage tuned xtal oscillator based on a schemtic I have attached as an image here in this thread , the oscillator is inside the red rectangle and have some questions:
Inputs are the Bias voltage -5.2v and the Tune voltage (LOTUNE). Output at C112.
I am not very familiar with these type of circuits but need help on explaining the circuit since I am not getting it to work.
What is the bias voltage of -5.2V for ? does the oscillator oscillate if I do not apply any voltage?
If I do not want to tune, does the oscillator works if I do not apply any voltage at LOTUNE ?
I have built it on an experemental board and what happens here is that it only oscillates when I touch some of the components in the correct frequency , conditions: no -5.2 bias is attached and no LOTUNE.
