Hi,
I'm a student working with metamaterials. These are materials whose properties come from their structure rather than their chemical composition. Here's the wikipedia article, if you're interested: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metamaterials
I am attempting to fabricate one such material by printing a pattern of resonators onto a single layer PCB. While I could attempt this printing job myself, the small size of the patterns would be better off done by a company with precision printing equipment.
The problem is that all the bulk PCB websites I have yet encountered want some form of part-layout file rather than an image. My layout is a geometric one- the size and shape is the important thing, there are no components or connections involved.
My question is this: How can I get a Bulk PCB manufacturer to print a single layer PCB from an image file rather than a Gerber file (or similar)? Alternatively, how can I convert an image file to an appropriate file type without distorting the geometry?
Thanks for any help you can offer.
