What is the purpose of buffer circuit (op-amp). Can we use the same buffer circuit for low pass RC circuit or is this only for RLC circuit? Thank you in advance.

A buffer amplifier is used for any circuit where a low source impedance is needed.

I would add, or where a high input impedance is required.
