I wonder if MV CBs have, just like LV CBs, current limiting capability? The current limiting capability makes us able to lower the size of downstream breakers, cables and other equipment.

Hi Hassan,

Yes, I think EATON, Schneider, ABB, etc. has it.

It is due to the demand of some industrial companies.

Try to check some datasheets of their MV CB.

Thank you for your fruitful info. I will check. In this case there is no need to size MV cables for short circuit conditions, just like LV cables.
