Most resistor value is coded in 4 color band or 5 color band. For 5 color band resistor, the 5th ring indicates the tolerance value in percent. A black color has a tolerance value of 1%. Please refer to the attached link below for the reference. I hope this helps.
Is this correct ? (Digital cameras and computer monitors can distort colours.) (Resistor manufacturers sometimes use paint shades which are colour debatable !) (Not to mention colour fading due to heat !)

Franklin, in all the other resistor charts I have ever seen throughout my life, a final brown indicates 1% tolerance. A final red indicates 2%.
