Actually i want to design a brushless dc motor based ceiling fans by replacing the single phase induction motor of a ceiling fan with a bldc but for that i want to know the torque produced by single phase induction motor based ceiling fans. Thankyou

Hi Rafay,

I believe that every typical motor has its specifications indicated on the sticker attached to it. It you really want to know the torque of a specific motor, you need to know the power rating(in watts) and the angular speed (in revolutions per minute). Then use the formula for power, P = tau times 2 pi times omega (see attached). Observe your units.
