DC-DC Converter in Smart Grid

Hi all,

I am conducting a research about the use of DC to DC converters in smart grids.
Other then implementing buck-boost circuits in MPPT products and bidirectional DC-DC converters, are there any other applications that uses DC-DC converters?

And on that note - accept tdk lambda, who are the major manufacturers on the market for bidirectional converters?
To my knowledge it is a relatively new area and it seems that big players on the energy field has yet to produce any products of that kind.

Hi Yagev,

There are several applications of DC-DC converters in which majority of these are related to embedded systems. As you can observe the embedded projects are composed of different components, these components have its own ratings that requires converters. An example of this are simple mobile phones and some electronic appliances . The smartgrids are partly comprised of embedded systems which improves the grid management.

I read the TDK lambda article, but I was unable to found any other big manufacturer that addresses this subject.
