One reason maybe is that the supply is greater than the rated rating it can handle. It can either be the current or the voltage is greater. Also since this is an induction motor, heat is already present when it is working, causing every ten centigrade rise in temperature reduce the life of the insulation material. The area where electric motors are operated must have a proper cooling system and a ventilation system.
Hi, These may be the causes for over heating, 1- in put voltage more. 2- motor winding getting short due to insulation break down. 3- motor body earth connection loose. 4- any of the terminal connectors loose.
