I was thinking of building a something small with a led screen that showed how much data I used or how much was left. I have no idea where to start so I was wondering if anyone here had any ideas or had done something like this before?

Right now I'm using the mediacom website to check it. But I'd like to be able to glance at something on say my desk or tv and see it.

Well, I was think something like the LCD's/ displays that can be found on stock markets. They show live forecast of whats happening in the market. I guess the same goes for what you are looking to achieve.

I believe there are already devices that can do this. But I'd still research for more information about this.
