Hello,
My friend (a chemical engineer) has a big issue with electricity system/home security - please help if you can. Years ago, thieves entered into his house when he was on a holiday for 1 month. Later, it happened again, so he got an alarm system installed and CCTV cameras with UPS.
Since then, he had to change the alarm system because it started to malfunction: the user interface sometimes accepted the code, sometimes it didn't, and there were errors (gibberish text) in the touch screen. He hired an expert, who said he never seen such a thing before. The UPS power supply for his CCTV cameras died very fast. Other electronic appliances started to malfunction, too.
He isn't paranoid. He hired a private investigator, who confirmed that thieves might be people he knows and want to take revenge on him. Many of his appliances still fail very fast (e.g. lightbulbs die very early, and sometimes he experiences vibrating light).

Theory: is it possible that during 1 month, the thieves tampered with the internal electrical system, and installed something that can be used (e.g. activated via radio interface) to overload the electrical network or create high-frequency waves to damage the alarm system from inside (if used for long term)?
I know this sounds impossible, but he is a hundred percent reliable (and honored) person in the community, and he has evidence (such as an unrepariable center of a Paradox alarm system) confimed by a private investigator.
He is fed up with it but does not want to sell the house. Thank you for ANY ideas in his name, too!
