sir,

in our college experiments ,teachers have instructed us to use Vcc=12V for Op-amp µA-741

that means +Vcc=12V,

-Vcc=12V;

i want to know if i would use Vcc=5V

then the op-amp will work or not??

Check how close the input and output pins can swing to the rails in the data sheets. The parameters will be specified with power supplies of plus and minus 12 or 15 volts typically. With those voltages in mind, calculate if it would work with 5V supplies.
Some modern op amps are specified with rail to rail inputs and outputs, which simplifies design with low power supply voltages,
