Understanding Zero Crossing Detector

Hi All,

Just joined to learn about the Zero cross detector and how to design a circuit to get an out for the Arduino. Would anybody be knowing or maybe direct me to some resources. I know the deifinition to zero crossing but trying to learn how to take the peak as the voltage for use. My mains outlet is 220v 50Hz.

yes i did come across those circuits.The bristol circuit in figure 4 is something i wanted to try but it had the H11AA1 is not something i want to go ahead with.

Seems ok there are a wide variety of circuits that has mentioned. My main application would be control the pulse of a MOT (microwave oven transformer) Will be using a 22Ohm 50W resistor in series to the primary coil to Limit the current.

Was hoping if somebody could recommend me a circuit that would have the optocoupler and a TRIAC.
