Over the course of the past two years I've built a large, modular, anolog synthesizer based on schematics I found online, basic circuit design I taught myself, and reading many forum posts. I realized I really love working with electronics, particularly analog signal processing, and I decided to go back to school for an EE degree, and I'm starting my first semester in a few weeks.
My career goal, as of now, is to design / maintain test instruments in a research setting, preferably a particle physics lab. It seems pretty clear that a focus on analog signal processing would help toward this goal, as would a physics minor, or perhaps a double major, however I would appreciate any advice or insight from someone more established in the field, particularly regarding education requirements, educational focus, or other practical considerations.
Thanks.
