Viewing Global Variables in MPLABX Watch Window with Assembler Compiler

  While using the Assembler Compiler in MPLABX it does not appear possible to locate Global Variables in the Watch Window. I am not certain but I think it was possible in MPLAB. It certainly is using the C Compiler.  I am hoping that some of the very helpful guys with whome I used to correspond on the old Chat Zone, have been less reticent than I and are already here to tell me how it is done.    Thanks in anticipation.    Ken.

Hi Mike,Sorry for the delay in replying but at 85 I find the EE web site neither friendly nor forgiving of the old and doddery as was the old Chat Zone. Consequently I only logged on after a message appeared in my Email.I did contact Microchip and found that when using ASM it is necessary to use relative addressing to view global variables, preferably in a cblock. For me that does work, but not being C code it is hard to find any explanation.It is very good to hear from you as I was following your articles in EPE with intent. I was particularly interested in the oscilloscpe you were developing but for the moment it seems to have been shelved.I have just built the Velleman Oscilloscope kit which is interesting but not so much so as what you had in mind I feel.Anyway it's great to hear from you.Many regards.Ken.
