Hello everyone,i want to design 5V@2A supply power board for that i have searched many of the TI evaluation boards but couldn't succeed to find one best ic which is less in cost and efficient if any of you have worked with Ic that gives truely boost conversion as per the specification in datasheet then please let me know the part number

What is your input voltage / power source? This is the one of the most basic pieces of information when designing a power supply, but you have not given it. The only clue is that you mention boost, implying that your source is less than 5V. This could mean a 3.3V supply, a Lithium battery, a single NiMh or alkaline cell...???

There's a great tool on TI's website called Webench Power DesignerJust enter your basic requirements and it will recomnmend a regulator chip, give you a schematic diagram, suggest component values, give you an estimated cost, and in many cases it will even show you the suggested PCB layout or offer an evaluation PCB. I have used it many times and it has proven to be a valuable resource.-Rick

Actually i have tried that tool & also ordered an evaluation board of TPS61236 3A boost converter IC but couldn't get satisfied result. it doesn't even provide 1A of current although they have mentioned 3A current specification in datasheet.

Every design I have gotten from TI's Power Designer has worked perfectly. I can't help but think the problem is elsewhere. Can you post a link to the design that you got on their site? Are you sure your battery can provide enough current? For a 3 amp output you will need more than 4 amps from the battery- and the peak current requirement will be higher.Could you try replacing the battery with a bench power supply to see if the converter works OK?-Rick

The same battery works on the other power supplies having 2.5A output.. But this doesn't provide output if i connect only 1 A load to TI's circuit
