TAKING CARE OF GRID FLUCTUATION

We are planning to have a connection from grid for 4MW at 11kv and 50hz. Grid has fluctuations which is not acceptable to our electrical team. Are there are some equipment available which can be installed to reduce fluctuations and bring to acceptable levels?

Hi Farrukh-Is it necessary to stabilize the entire 4MW output, or are there only a few smaller loads that are sensitive to fluctuations?If it is necessary to stabilize the entire 4MW output it will be incredibly expensive.  The options I can think of are:(1) A HUGE motor-generator set with a big flywheel on it
(2) A tap changing voltage regulator (advantage- low cost.  Disadvantages:  slow, corrects for voltage fluctuations only; cannot correct for frequency variations)
(3) convert the voltage to DC, add some energy storage (like a BIG battery), and then convert it back to AC. This approach would give you the best quality power, but at the biggest expense by far.  This has actually been done before. Look here: Tesla builds world's largest battery  -Rick

Light flicker is mainly used for reducing grid fluctuation..You can try this 

Hi Farrukh,To correct a fluctuation in 4MW Grid can be difficult and is a tedious task. You can do one thing, Convert the AC RMS voltage to a desirable DC voltage . Then You can easily monitor the fluctuation using these wireless voltage Sensors. These are robust sensors made as per industrial standards and can meet your requirements.Thankyou.
