Is MIC4225 Gate Driver Suitable for Driving 1A Relay Coils on Each Output?

I would like to use the MIC4225 to drive an external relay coil.  Are there any issues that I am not considering?  Each output would drive a separate relay (of which only one can be on at a time, hence the inverting and non-inverting outputs).  The relay device will not always be the same, but the coil current will always be below 1A.  Please let me know if you see a catch with my plan or if more info is needed!

You don't specify the voltage rating for the relay. Additionally, the MIC4225 is not designed for relay driving, so you would need to have reverse voltage protection, use a diode if it is for slow speed switching.There are transistor and FET arrays that are likely to be availbale that are specifically designed for solenoid switching that have such diodes on chip, they are probably cheaper than your solution.If it is essential that only one relay is on at a time, be careful, the turn off time with a relay can be quite slow compared to the turn on time, potentially both relays could be on simultaneously for a brief time.Cheers,Richard
