Are New Local Music Stations Launching on Medium Wave (MW) Radio Bands in 2024?

Good morning.
I've heard there is a return to medium waves (MW). There will be new local stations broadcasting music, in a small radius.
Is all this true?

People never left it, there are both technical and social reasons why it still thrives, but the band width available using standard MW AM modulation is typically low and monophonic, if music is your interest FM offers advantages in that respect. In New Zealand, low radius stations are FM, this is largely a technical issue around licencing, and I assume that will be the same in most countries.
As far as music is concerned, I am guessing most is acquired by download these days, since you complete have control of content, which does not normally apply to wireless broadcasting.
