Guys,
Is it viable to rebuild a VW 1.2 petrol engine Seat Ibiza for around 1200 euro?
Two of the three cylinders are on 60% air pressure (the 3rd is at 100%), and there's almost no oil consumption - I topped off 150 ml for the last 5000 km. The car is a 2010 model and it has 160 000 km.
Thanks, man!
AI: Do you know the exact engine code, and was this a compression test or a leak-down test? Also, what were the actual readings for each cylinder?
8/12 bar for two of the cylinders and 12 bar for the 3rd
AI: What exactly is included in the 1200 euro rebuild quote - parts, labor, machining, timing chain/belt, valves/rings, warranty, etc.?
The quote includes manual labor and new parts: timing chain, water pump, belt, oil rings, air intake hoses, coils, sparks, head gasket and machining of the engine head.
