I may be mistaken about the specific model, but there are only two components on the circuit path from the USB socket to the microprocessor, which I measured with a multimeter. All you need to do is carefully measure the connection between D+ and D- from the socket to the microprocessor; if the connection is present but there’s no voltage, the microcontroller’s USB functionality has failed due to a power surge. On a few occasions, I found and replaced a resistor on one of the data lines, and the USB worked again. And there must be +5V at the USB socket.
