More information: Hello everyone, I am working on a Yaesu FT-8900R (European version, Serial Number: 1C3000266) that is currently locked and not booting. Upon initial power-on, the radio draws about 90-100 mA for 1 second and then drops back to zero. Crucially, this behavior ONLY happens when my original EEPROM chip is installed. When the EEPROM is removed from the board, this initial current draw does not occur. This proves that the hardware is healthy and the I2C bus lines (SCL/SDA) are actively communicating between the CPU and the EEPROM, but the CPU shuts down because the data inside the memory file is corrupted. The original stock chip is a 24C128 (16 KB), but I am performing the repair using a new 24C256 (32 KB) chip. Please note: While I provided my serial number for reference, ANY working EEPROM dump (.bin or .hex file) from any other functioning Yaesu FT-8900R will be absolutely perfect! I just need to study the original factory structure, look at the hex rows, and see how the bits are organized. Once I have a reference file, I will manually compare it with my data, hex row by hex row, to reconstruct my boot sectors and CHIRP calibration blocks.
