Hey I have a telephone cube that splits my phone line into :
    telephone and dsl internet connection(RJ11)
Previously I had a router with rj11 input and the internet was working
Now I have a router with Rj45 input-(I don't want to have two routers)
How do I make an adapter from RJ11 to RJ 45?
    Any specific schematic?
    Thanks

The best thing is to make a proper cable. And this router has an ADSL modem?

I do not think that a router with an RJ45 input has the ability to connect to an ADSL line.
Change the router or use a DSL modem + Router with PPPoE set and entered logins and passwords for neostrada or whatever you have.

    this is the router: http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Product_Id=141064
I have a DSL connection from a UK-online provider and there is a phone cube that splits the signal to the phone and a separate DSL line. RJ11 output.
Will it be possible with an RJ11 to RJ45 adapter cable to connect this?
Because this router does not seem to have an internal modem...?
    Thanks for your reply

That's why these plugs are different so that it doesn't occur to someone to connect an adsl to the WAN ethernet port
    NOT POSSIBLE

    read the descriptions carefully :!:
1ac014bb4 With a Wireless G Router as the central connection point for your network, your computers can share files, printers, hard drives and - via a DSL modem - broadband access to Internet. You have clearly written that this router MUST coexist with an xDSL modem.

So surely it is impossible with such a cable
RJ45 TO RJ11 1M LEAD/CABLE What is left for me using this router?
I would have to buy some modem with rj45 output?

Unfortunately, it is not possible. I, if I were you, I would sell this router and buy a modem with a router.
Is your phone line analog or ISDN?
If it is analog then ADSL standard: Annex A
If it is ISDN then ADSL standard: Annex B

No this is an old analog phone line and why?

It is the modem that must have the ADSL standard: Annex A

Well that's cool I already know everything just a little pity that it won't work with this cable "adapter", well actually there is no modem in this router....
Thanks a lot for all the answers.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around the challenge of connecting a DSL internet connection using an RJ11 output to a router that only accepts RJ45 inputs. The original poster inquires about creating an adapter or cable for this purpose. Responses indicate that a direct RJ11 to RJ45 adapter is not feasible due to the differing functionalities of the ports; RJ45 is designed for Ethernet connections, while RJ11 is for telephone lines. It is suggested that the user needs a DSL modem with an integrated router that supports ADSL standards, specifically Annex A for analog phone lines. The consensus is that the current router cannot function without a compatible modem, and alternatives such as purchasing a new modem/router combination are recommended.
