Hello. Recently my friend called me that he has a problem with the television. When I came to see what happened, it turned out that connecting the TV instead of the usual image the screen is green (from the left green, going right turns into black), the same red and blue. The screen color changes every now and then. I do not know what happened, but my buddy told me that he wanted to place something and went into service mode. Maybe he did something wrong? Is there an option to restore the factory settings? The problem is that when now I want to enter the service mode in this TV (press the appropriate key combination), the TV turns on, but the screen instead of the menu are just the colors I've already written about. Thank you in advance for your help in solving this problem
The solution is fabulously simple - we call the Sony service and "smoke" the stupid thing that something broke down. For the future, let's leave a specialist in SM TV or order tuning with a colorimeter. greetings
So what, will a new firmware solve the problem ?? Is it possible to upload the firmware intended for the 40W4000 model? BO only found this reference, and there is no firmware for Sony KDL-32W4000 on the net. My buddy has this model, which means that practically both of these televisions differ only in the diagonal of the screen?
@lisek - thanks for showing the way. Tomorrow I will try to fight it. I have no idea how I can upload a new firmware, because I will do it "blind". The screen does not display any content other than a great rainbow (the stations are pre-tuned because there is a voice).
Well, I was just wondering if it would burn out, if you can not see anything except the colts. But let me know about the result of this action

For me, there is exactly the same situation. You can hear that the program is normally received (although you can not see the picture), and the remote control works normally (you can hear eg channel changes, mute etc.)
I must first check all the data on this TV (because I am in the plant). I downloaded the program that they recommend (to format the pendrive?) And a few batches. Hmm ... I hope something will come out. Otherwise, I will be forced to send the client back with a receipt. Eh ... That also users like to improve the manufacturer ...
edit:
I already know why I came up with a subject ... This Bravia which I have to repair is KDL-S32 A11E . Chassis also Himalayan. According to the sticker stating the software, it is WAXAEP V11.27 . It does not have USB, so it drops off the upgrade this way ... Sorry for the confusion I introduced to the thread. I wonder now ... Assume a new topic, do you count on help in existing?
Samsung LCD components have product codes beginning with "LTY".
SONY KDL-40W5500 LTY400HF05 (S-LCD)
SONY KDL-40V5100 LTY400HF05
SONY KDL-40W4500 LTY400HC02
SONY KDL-40W4000 LTY400HA05
40W4000 (05/2008) has panel S-LCD LTY400HA05, from 11/2008 Sony changed to panel LTY400HA10
I need the "restore factory settings" option. The panel is rather functional. From customer testimony - the receiver worked until it was played in service mode (to which he entered thanks to our forum ...).
1.1 Select your model of TV and download the appropriate .zip file onto your computer. Download the correct firmware (a .zip file) for your TV from here.. http://www.box.net/shared/hhcr59z4wo
1.2 Extract the .zip file onto your computer and you will be left with a folder that looks like this "fix2_proto1"
1.3 Find a Sony MemoryStick Pro and format it using a Sony device (digital camera, camcorder) NOT A COMPUTER.
1.4 Copy the "fix2_proto1" folder to the MemoryStick so it is in the ROOT of the MemoryStick and not inside any other folders. Official advice is to NOT USE a MemoryStick with MagicGate but used a Sony MemoryStick that was "MagicGate" and it worked fine. I formatted it in my digital camera first not using a computer. I think that MagicGate software on PCs could create a secure partition on the stick and make it not readable and screw up the tv when it looked for the firmware. As it was it went fine for me.
1.5 Correctly eject or disconnect the MemoryStick from your computer.
1.6 With your TV turned off unplug all devices from your TV (RF Aerial, SCART, HDMI, Component etc)
1.7 Turn on your TV and select an unused AV channel (SCART or HDMI - NOT ANOLOGUE OR DIGITAL TV IMPUT)
1.7 Turn off your TV and then pull the power cord. There should now be NO CABLES going into your TV.
1.8 Insert the MemoryStick Pro into the Service port on the back of your TV by opening the little plastic dust flap. if you look into the port you should see which way the MemoryStick correctly goes in.
1.9 Plug back in your TV's power cord and then turn your TV back on.
1.10 Your TV should now have a black screen and be reading the MemoryStick, orange and red lights should appear and "UPDATING" should flash on your screen.
1.11 Depending on how old your software is will depend on the time it takes to update. If some of the TV's software modules are at the current version the updater will skip them and move to the next module until all old modules are updated.
1.12 The folder entitled "Sony Documents" in the Firmware folder (from the link) above has more information you may wish to read fully.
1.13 When the update is complete your TV should restart and come back to the unused AV channel you left it on. Turn off your TV and then pull the power cord out again. Remove the MemoryStick.
1.14 Plug back in all your AV equipment, cables etc and plug back in the powercord.
1.15 Your firmware should now be up to date. You can verify this by accessing the service menu. Turn the TV off... and using your remote press..
Unfortunately, the KDL-S32 A11E does not have a USB connector. And here the problem begins. On Sony websites there is no firmvare upgrade to this model. Just entering the service mode is typical for Sony, but in a situation where the menu content can not be seen on the panel, it seems to be utopian any kind of regulation, even for the builder who wants to build the menu by heart. So you have to somehow revive the communication between the processor and the service technician. How?
write what are your Micronas (VCT 6973G) and CXD9901R slings? * my friend did it to Jig on the I2c Prock rail? you also have access to memory Look here, he showed me this one Link
or S service
something said about SONY JIG TL-3 / JIG WAX bus signals are laid out in the service connector (. 1-GND; 6-SDA; 15-SCL.) maybe you will look something .. Good luck
The processor is VCT 6973G. I can see that getting a JX VAX or TL-3 can be quite a problem ... During the search, I got enriched with a few websites. I will see what we have in the resources and possibly add something.
Unfortunately, I was unable to find a firmware for the KDL-32W4000 model, so we called the service that took the TV set and just called me a friend, that they have already brought the TV to him and is already made A big plus for the site, because there is no authorized Sony service in Gorzów, but for a TV came a guy from Poznan, who took it and brought it back, and for the whole repair a colleague paid nothing
The discussion revolves around a problem with the Sony KDL-32W4000 television, where the screen displays only colors (green, red, blue) instead of the actual image. The issue arose after the user entered service mode, leading to difficulties in restoring factory settings. Participants suggest contacting Sony service for repairs, as there is no available firmware for user-level upgrades. Some users discuss the possibility of using firmware from similar models, but the lack of a USB port complicates the process. Ultimately, the television was repaired by a service technician without cost to the owner. Summary generated by the language model.
