    Hello everyone gathered here!

The problem concerns the Sony Bravia KDL-46X4500AEP LCD TV.
The signal on the HDMI digital inputs and the analogue via EURO SCART is filled with vertical multi-colored stripes with a dynamic nature - they are not the same - there is "tingling" and color changes within the strips.

This is the picture from the HDMI input - NC + decoder (you can see that the stripes have different nature due to the displayed image)

This is how the bars look when the signal from the decoder is sent by analogue (EURO SCART):

And so when it is sent via HDMI:

TV menu from the internal generator is displayed correctly:

The last picture shows the image from the EURO SCART input with no signal. The bars are visible, but the menu is displayed correctly.

Graphic files (photos) from the USB flash drive read through the USB port are displayed correctly (full spectrum of colors without stripes).

    I called a few places.
Everywhere I hear that the matrix has died and the equipment can not be saved.
Well, but like a matrix, since the TV menu and photos from USB mass storage are displayed correctly?
The system was destroyed by a guy who explained to me that (quote) "the USB image is static, and when the matrix is damaged, it can only be seen in the dynamic image, the matrix then can not keep past the previous pixels". In a word, madness. It is interesting how he refers to the fact that the bars are also in the situation of a lack of signal on analog inputs ...

By. me, the matrix is a matrix, it has to display pixels and it displays everything correctly. On images from USB you can see that every pixel "shines" (conventionally shines, because it is after all LCD). Something came up on my mind with the control of the matrix, or some signal converter from the video inputs. This is evident by the difference in the thickness of the HDMI bars where the signal is FHD and the SD signal by analogue. The stripes in the second case are clearly thicker, as if they were scaled from SD to FHD.

Well, these are my outpourings. I do not know it in the literal sense. I try to logic, but I do not trust those to whom I called. Fallen matrix according to I would give my reasoning a constant pattern of stripes, and here it is not.

Any idea? Where to hit and save?

Have you tried resetting the TV to factory settings?

The TV is not mine. Father in law. And I did not check it. I will not fail to check at the earliest opportunity. But the father-in-law did not bury anything in the settings from the moment he hung the TV on the wall. ON / OFF and Volume only. The rest are the second remote from the decoder.

For me it is clear that the fault lies in the BGA connection on the disc / T-Con-or DDRs are over.

BGA yes but not as suggested by colleague "LCD-LED-PDP"
Only the slingshot has a motherboard (scratch new balls and tv as new)
and that for the father-in-law the more repair should be done

And I am "afraid" that the LCD-LED-PDP is right. ;) In addition, this after the word or. ;)

    Thank you for your suggestions.

The TV will be picked up by MiK from Radom (they are authorized by SONY) and will issue an expert opinion.
I do not know, however, if they will be able to repair defects other than replacing modules (t-con'u and nowhere is there for this model).

If DDR memory were lost or to replace the ball under the Prock, where to look for help? Who can fix it and where?

It's not T-con's fault ( on ebay, price is over 80.euro)

    lisek, thanks!

New circumstances appeared. Today father-in-law turned on the TV and for 15-20s the picture was correct!
It got hot. Something got widened there and caught contact for a moment?
Is it possible to exclude DDR memory and direct it towards the BGA of the processor?

I inform the esteemed group that the TV has been repaired by MiK from Radom, for which I thank you in public!

Many entities dealing with the repair and TV service, wrote down the equipment in advance in 99% of cases, claiming: the matrix was lost. However, thanks to joint efforts, we managed to breathe new life into the receiver.

Perhaps the knowledge gathered here (I informed MiK about this thread) contributed to the diagnosis and removal of the defect, for which I am also helpful to you, thank you!

" The reason for the picture distortion was the failure of the TV's motherboard. The repair consisted of reballing the graphics processor and DDR memory. "

So BGA connections! Hit and sink! :spoko:

And how much did the repair cost? For me in the KDL46W5500 model from 2009 there is a fault in the form of bright stripes depending on the displayed image, as you can see. I do not know if it can be fixed and the price is expensive ...

After several months of trouble-free operation, the problem returned. Probably the BGA connection under the processor and / or memory has not been accurately resuscitated. MiK does not want to take up this challenge once again. In addition, the TV is fine and in this condition (i.e. only with the disadvantage - the rest efficient, including the matrix) is intended for sale.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around the issue of vertical multi-colored stripes appearing on the screen of a Sony Bravia KDL-46X4500AEP LCD TV, affecting both HDMI and EURO SCART inputs. Initial suggestions included resetting the TV to factory settings, but further analysis pointed towards potential hardware failures, specifically related to BGA connections on the motherboard or T-Con board. The user later reported that the TV was repaired by an authorized service center, MiK from Radom, which involved reballing the graphics processor and DDR memory, resolving the issue. However, the problem reoccurred after several months, indicating a possible incomplete repair. The user also inquired about repair costs and shared experiences with a similar model, KDL-46W5500, facing similar issues.
