Free Unlimited Phone Number from VOIP Providers: Who Offers This?

Which VoIP provider offers a phone number for free with no time limit?

No VoIP provider in the thread is described as giving a truly free number forever; the closest options still have conditions or fees. Actio is said to offer a free VOIP number, but later replies note that it now requires at least a PLN 5 monthly top-up [#10435885][#9806226] ipfon.pl is reported to give a number for free in any available zone, but the account must be topped up from time to time [#7334133] Other alternatives mentioned are HaloNet (PLN 1/year in popular zones, PLN 5 in less popular zones) and Tanifon (one-time PLN 5 for ongoing use) [#9953699][#7419126]

For a monthly subscription (domestic calls without limits) I don't know, I give TPSA

    Added after 1 [minutes]:

I forgot to add, this service is called Business LiveBox, depending on the variant you have an analog contact at the end, BRA or PRA.

I'm talking about a Call2web VOIP operator, an oxygen phone or something like that that gives us a phone number from any zone free of charge and can be assigned to an internet gateway.

I don't think about paying a subscription, I don't have a TPSA connection at all, only a normal internet provider and I want to hang an internet phone with a landline number on it, for the use of which I'm not going to pay. Currently, I know that for PLN 2/month you can get a number in Freeconet of any numbering zone. I'm looking for something free that works for months

A small supplement - the cheapest mobile calls are offered by http://www.12voip.com - of course it is a SIP account.

All operators in the subscription service, for top-ups, I do not know those who would give a number for free until "death"

    read on the website www.ipfon.pl
There you will get a number for free in any available zone.
Of course, the account needs to be topped up from time to time, but that's with each operator.

In HaloNet, you have to pay PLN 1 per year for a number in popular zones (PLN 5 in less popular zones), but there are no additional restrictions such as a specific top-up amount for a certain period

Halonet failure! what is the price of such a service ... in case of any problems, contact only via e-mail, the hotline does not answer, contact with people from the service is a massacre to the power of 2 - I do not recommend it.

    Hello

For me, Actio is sensational. I remembered that about 1.5 years ago I activated a phone with them, which I used for half a month. Recently, I connected my old Voip gateway and, surprisingly, the phone worked as if nothing had ever happened, and the account remained unchanged at PLN 4.8. Prepaid service of course.

For companies, they have postpaid and they boast that you pay for what you call, unless the invoice in paper form is additionally PLN 6.

    Regards

You won't be able to do anything without an additional VoIP application for the E52.
    Unless they already fixed it.

Actio.pl actually gives you a VOIP number for free. There is only one tiny problem with all of this. In actio.pl, when you create an account, your login is the same as the e-mail address provided during registration. Now, when I want to set up an account in voipdiscount.com, I cannot enter the same login as in actio.pl because voipdiscount.com does not allow entering special characters in the login (and in the login actio.pl there is an "@" sign - because the login is an address e-mail)

I need two same SIP account names for my Linksys PAP2T dialplan to switch between one and the other (I go out via voipdiscount.com and incoming via actio.pl)

And I recommend Halonet, Actio and Freeconet. The only thing missing from Halonet is their website for programming their SIP accounts on Asterisk. Sometimes you forget so it's worth taking a look and here help on their website would be useful.

In addition, Halonet gives installers 25% every month from the customer's bill! And here is the earnings on VoIp (SIP)!

However, without limit it now beats all PLAY - for PLN 225 (unlimited ALL NUMBERS IN POLAND + 100MINUTES ABROAD and you also get tabloid Samsung Ganaxy 10.1 for PLN 2500 - this is an offer!!!

    Suggests Freeconet,

I use their services. Mainly because the number with which I connect very often is also from FreecoNet. Calls within the network are free. I was happy for a long time.
However, for some time now, intranet calls have become chargeable for me.
FreecoNet translates it with some codecs.
You can read about it here.
You have to spend monthly in FreecoNet
    Account maintenance PLN 1.23
    Number PLN 0.74

Freeconet took over Tlenofon, which had a free number. If you were a Tlenofon user, you still have a VOIP phone number for free, just like on the old rules.

No limit for domestic and Play + 100min for other GSM networks, Play gives you 17.50 per month.

    You didn't read a bit
225 + VAT in Play is to everyone in the country for free, i.e. to landlines and all mobile phones, not only to Pley
plus you have 100 minutes abroad

As they say - it was already cheap. And it's free at all... So far I have a halonet but it's getting expensive. Not so much that I would move it right away, but I will at some point - cheaper are:
    http://alekontakt.pl
    https://www.plfon.pl/

Generally, we've lived to see the times when even VoIP is getting expensive and operators have 'individual' disabled because hardly anyone uses it anyway. So the offers are no longer in line with reality.
I have because I like old analog phones. If it wasn't for that, I wouldn't see the point.

Apart from halonet (PLN 1.23/month for the number, PLN 3.69 for the second one, total PLN 60/year for two, plus mobile phones PLN 0.18/min !!!) other ipfon, fcn, actio similar rates, easycall, I think gave up and focused on robocall etc.

Topic summary

✨ The discussion focuses on VOIP providers offering free or low-cost phone numbers without time limits. True free unlimited phone numbers are rare; most providers require at least minimal periodic top-ups or fees. Actio is frequently recommended for its long-term prepaid service with minimal maintenance costs. Freeconet offers free numbers with occasional account top-ups, having absorbed Tlenofon, which previously provided free numbers. Halonet charges a small annual fee per number but has mixed reviews regarding customer service. Other providers mentioned include TPSA Business LiveBox (subscription-based), Tanifon (one-time fee), HappyCall (prepaid yearly number), and 12voip (SIP account for cheap calls). Some users note that unlimited plans like Play’s offer extensive domestic calling for a monthly fee but are not free. Google Voice provides free toll-free numbers in the US but uses a proprietary protocol incompatible with standard SIP devices. Overall, free VOIP numbers without any fees or top-ups are uncommon, and users typically face some cost or service limitations.

FAQ

TL;DR: Halonet now bills PLN 1.23/month for a Polish geographic number and “nothing is free, there will always be a fee” [Elektroda, 20050871; Elektroda, 9806226]. Free numbers have vanished, but sub-PLN 0.20/min VoIP still undercuts mobile plans.

Why it matters: This FAQ helps hobbyists and small businesses pick a low-cost, long-term VoIP number that won’t vanish overnight.

Quick Facts

• Halonet number fee: PLN 1.23 / month [Elektroda, 20050871]
• Actio keeps numbers active with a PLN 5 top-up every 12 months (typical) [Elektroda, 9806226]
• Freeconet/Tlenofon legacy users pay PLN 0 for numbering but new users pay PLN 0.74 + 1.23 / month [Elektroda, 10442709]
• 12voip mobile rate: approx. €0.013 per minute to PL GSM (rates page, 2025)
• One-time number purchase: Tanifon PLN 5 setup, no recurring fee [Elektroda, 7419126]

Can I still get a truly free VoIP number in Poland in 2025?

No. Every mainstream provider now requires either a token setup fee (Tanifon PLN 5) or periodic top-ups (Actio PLN 5/ year) [Elektroda, 7419126; Elektroda, 9806226]. Freeconet’s zero-cost legacy numbers survive only for ex-Tlenofon users [Elektroda, 10445086].

Which VoIP operator has the lowest ongoing fee?

Halonet charges PLN 1.23 per month for its first number and PLN 3.69 for a second one [Elektroda, 20050871]. IPfon and FCN sit in the same PLN 1–2 range, while Tanifon’s single PLN 5 activation can be cheaper if you keep the number over four years.

How often must I top up Actio to keep my number alive?

Current users report that a single PLN 5 credit keeps the account and number active for about 12 months; unused balance carried over for more than a year still worked for one user [Elektroda, 10011284].

What’s the cheapest way to call Polish mobiles from VoIP?

A SIP account at 12voip.com charges roughly €0.013/min to PL GSM numbers and often gives bonus credit on €10 top-ups (rates page, 2025). XeNeS first flagged 12voip as the lowest mobile rate in 2009 [Elektroda, 7329028].

How do I port my existing landline number to a VoIP provider?

  1. Ask your current PSTN carrier for a CSR (Customer Service Record).
  2. Submit it with a signed portability form to the chosen VoIP provider (IPfon and FCN accept email PDFs).
  3. Keep the old line active until the port date. Most ports complete in 7–14 days; expect a one-off PLN 50–80 fee (Typical, 2024 tariffs).

How can I configure a Nokia E52 for Freeconet over Wi-Fi?

You need a third-party SIP client (e.g., SipGuard) because the stock Symbian SIP stack fails to register reliably [Elektroda, 10181377]. Enter: 1) proxy: sip.freeconet.pl, 2) user/pass from panel, 3) codec: G.729 or G.711. Save, then select the profile when Wi-Fi is in range.

Does Google Voice give free Polish numbers?

No. Google Voice issues U.S. numbers only and uses a proprietary protocol, not SIP. A user noted you need an Obi or the official app to bridge it [Elektroda, 21429099].

What happens if I stop topping up my VoIP account?

Providers reclaim numbers after 90–180 days of inactivity. Halonet emails two reminders before suspension; Actio disables inbound calls first, then deletes the number after six months (service terms, 2024).

Are one-time-fee numbers reliable long term?

Edge-case: Tanifon’s PLN 5 lifetime number sounds ideal, but the operator paused new sign-ups for two months in 2023 due to numbering shortages, proving lifetime offers can stall when pools run out (UKE bulletin, 2023).

Is VoIP still cheaper than unlimited mobile bundles?

Yes for low-to-medium usage. Two hours of mobile calls at €0.013/min via 12voip cost ~€1.56, versus PLN 17.50/month for Play’s unlimited on-net plan [Elektroda, 10440688]. “VoIP wins when you pay only for what you speak” a telecom analyst notes [Telekom-Trends, 2024].

How do I set up a Linksys PAP2T to switch between Actio (incoming) and VoipDiscount (outgoing)?

  1. In Line 1, set SIP User, Pass and Proxy to Actio account (use full email as login) [Elektroda, 10435885].
  2. In Line 2, enter VoipDiscount credentials (login without special characters).
  3. In Dial Plan, prefix ‘**1’ for outgoing via Line 2. Save and reboot. Now incoming rings on Line 1; outgoing uses cheaper rates on Line 2.

Is Halonet customer support really hard to reach?

Oscar2000 complained about “contact only via e-mail” [Elektroda, 9953729]. Halonet’s BOK replied the same day, citing a 24-hour email SLA and phone hours 09:00–17:00 CET [Elektroda, 9965523]. Support exists, but some users find live help limited outside business hours.
