Why does the Polish trillion have 9 zeros and the English trillion has 12?
Apparently, English (probably also Russian) a billion is our billion. Why is there such confusion with numbers ...

Different language - different names, I don't see anything strange about it. Rather, it is strange that a million have the same name everywhere :P

I understand the difference. But why here a trillion has 9 zeros and there has 12 ... That's confusing.

Because a billion in Polish is a different word than billion in English. So it's not like "a trillion has 9 here and there has 12 zeros." Besides, just like arekadiusz he wrote, it is the other way around: here a trillion is 10 ^ 12, and in the USA, billion is 10 ^ 9. Besides, the difference is not only in a trillion, see it: http://www.jimloy.com/math/billion.htm
