I warmly welcome. I have a problem with this error which after each reset returns after driving about 100km. On the laptop when I plug it in to erase this error it shows me that the reason for displaying this error is the wrong signal from the catalyst sensor. I do not know which sensor is because there are two and one of them is certainly a lambda probe. I checked connections on both cubes and they look ok. Maybe someone can tell me what to do about it. Thank you in advance for good advice.

These sensors are both lambda courts. Such a system not only selects the mixture correctly but also has to control the correct operation of the catalyst.
Leakage in the exhaust system before the probe can cause problems for example.

Thank you for the hint. And, for example, can one of the probes be damaged and this is what the error throws me through?

Dude, what would someone not tell you and what you would say, you do at your own risk
That's why there are specialized plants to check and replace

There is a possibility and, rather, an indication of the probe behind the catalyst (control).

Topic summary

✨ The discussion revolves around a recurring P0420 error related to the catalytic converter in a 2002 Fiat Stilo 1.6 16v. The user reports that the error reappears after approximately 100 km of driving, indicating a faulty signal from the catalyst sensor. Responses suggest that both sensors are lambda probes, and issues such as exhaust leaks before the probes could contribute to the error. Recommendations include checking the condition of the probes, considering the replacement of the catalyst, and consulting specialized facilities for accurate diagnostics and repairs.
