I have had a problem with Stilo for several days. When I want to start the car, I get Loose connection ASR failure and a padlock.

In addition, you can hear the T09 relay chirping and knocking around the fuel pump, as if it was still working.

Once it starts, it's ok and you can easily get there.

I checked the weight at the battery and replaced the fuse box at the battery, unfortunately it did not help.

Do you have transferred ECU from hot engine?
    How old is the battery?

    Possibly a frayed cord somewhere.

The driver has long been moved to the side wall. I recharged the battery, the problem is the same.

That is, once in a dozen or so attempts it will fire and then it works very well.

Maybe it's a problem with immo?

You would have to connect to the computer. Invite a colleague to the discussion iron64 maybe a hint because it has a stilo with this engine. I bet somewhere worn / damp wires.

I'm still fighting electronics. I noticed that when I fire from the cables while another car is running, it then starts.

Maybe the voltage stabilizer in the ECU fell and only when the voltage is about 14.5v does it give the correct 5V for the systems?

If a colleague is not afraid of electronics. However, if a colleague would spoil something, it might be better to have an electronic engineer correct the cold solders.

Besides, how stilo works. Which year is it? How about corrosion? I am asking because I am currently looking for such a car. What faults did the colleague have in this car?

Ps. I would start the diagnosis by measuring with a multimeter to how much voltage drops on the battery under load (while trying to start the car). If it is below 9V it is the fault of the battery. What charger did the colleague charge the battery with an electronic charger or old equipment with a transformer?

The reason for the problem was a damaged ECU. Replacing the stabilizer did not help. I changed the ECU and it works

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around a Fiat Stilo 1.6 16v experiencing an ASR failure, indicated by a loose connection warning and a padlock symbol during startup. The user reports a chirping T09 relay and issues with the fuel pump, although the car runs fine once started. Suggestions include checking the ECU, battery condition, and potential frayed wires. The user suspects an immobilizer issue and notes that the car starts when jump-started from another vehicle. Ultimately, the problem was identified as a damaged ECU, which was replaced, resolving the issue.
