    Hello,
I have a question as in the subject, well, the oil light came on while driving. After checking the oil level on the dipstick, it turned out to be below the level. I replenished the missing amount right away, but the light on the board is still on, which is slowly starting to irritate. I know that you will probably "reprimand" me, that you should keep an eye on such things, but I never looked there, there were never such problems, I drove this car from change to change and it never ran out of oil and I have been driving it for two years.
My question, can the error be deleted "at home" or will it be necessary to visit a mechanic?

Unfortunately, a visit to a mechanic and not only erasing the error, but also measuring the pressure in the lubrication system, if everything is ok, then oil and filter change.

The inspection indicates that the replacement is already in 1,200 km, which is basically soon :D
The only thing that worried me was the pressure, could it be something serious and is there such a defect often?

The first one indicates a lack of oil pressure (red), the second - its low level (yellow).
the yellow mark disappears by itself after the level is replenished, the red one is the service.

    Added after 3 [minutes]:

When the bonnet has been opened for more than 30 seconds, the lamp
control turns off. If no oil has been added, the indicator light will come on
again after driving about 100 km.

    Added after 1 [minutes]:

The last description is for the oil level indicator lamp, of course

    Added after 2 [minutes]:

    The indicator light ? flashes
If there is a fault with the engine oil level sensor, when the ignition is turned on
it will be signaled by an acoustic signal and switching on several times

In the hatch lock, the indicator light will go out after you repair the sensor.

So the sensor is repairable, do you need to buy a new one?

Short the two wires that go to the bonnet lock for a moment. Go from the lock on the cable - you will find the plug. Unfasten the wires for a moment from the installation side and that's the problem.

Yesterday I was looking for this sensor at the castle and couldn't find it. Unfortunately, it is not in my car, in fact there is a cube with two cables in such an oval housing near the lock, but there is no sensor. I don't want to shorten these wires because I don't know if they are these. The colors, if I remember correctly, are purple and I think orange.
    Is this about this cube?

I didn't speak for a long time, but the problem was solved by itself :D .
Winter came to the rescue, when I took the battery out of the car for charging overnight and reconnected it, the light simply disappeared :D I also consider the problem to be solved.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around the issue of the oil indicator light remaining on in a Skoda Octavia after the oil level was replenished. The user initially experienced the light turning on due to low oil levels, which was addressed by adding oil. However, the light persisted, leading to concerns about potential underlying issues, such as oil pressure or a faulty oil level sensor. Responses suggest that while the yellow indicator typically turns off after oil is added, persistent illumination may indicate a malfunctioning sensor or require a mechanic's inspection. Some users shared experiences with similar issues, including a damaged engine hood opening sensor affecting the light. A solution was eventually found when the user disconnected the battery, which resolved the indicator light problem.
