Flannel + very thick green tea (essence) and of course polishing.
Of course, we understand that not every scratch can be removed.

Someone once told me that he used toothpaste (the most ordinary one) and a cotton pad :D . I cleaned the display in C35 with the paste and it came out OK, maybe the disc would help.

I used to use toothpaste with an admixture of castor oil. Rubbing with such a paste gave a good effect, recently I regained the CD using this method, checked. : sm30:

    type there: CD cleaning kit.
Lots of information, but beware, there are laser cleaning kits and laser + CD cleaning kits - these kits include additional disc fluids and additional polishing.

With this toothpaste it doesn't work that well. I tried recently on CDRW and the effect was "tragic" the album came out MATTE so maybe it depends on the type of toothpaste ??? as for the display from the cell phone, the "milk", I think "cif" was "SUPER" as fast as new, but whether the CDR will work like this, I have not tried.
    Regards.

I use agents that are used to remove scratches on the car. So I take a 2000 grit water sandpaper and sand the entire plate to remove the coarsest scratches, then polishing paste - preferably Farecla on a soft cloth to remove micro scratches from the sandpaper.

Hello, if the methods provided by your colleagues do not help, try using the CDcheck program to rescue data from scratched and damaged media and copy what you will recover to a blank CD.

Or go to a friend who has a decent (preferably quite new) cd / dvd player and try to read the scratched disc from him.

Try to insert the disc into a different drive, a more sensitive one, for example a DVD recorder, and then copy this disc.

Try to insert this disc into the recorder - data writers have more precise readers. And if that doesn't help, I suggest treating the puck with warm tap water for a few minutes. After all, it does not hurt to clean the plate with special cloths, intended e.g. for LCD monitors. Most of the time it works for me.

I personally polish the tiles with cigarette ash, the tile is dull after that, so I polish the Mat itself with a clean tissue. 99% success.
However, check carefully against the light that there are no scratches on the print side, because if there are any, then forget about polishing.

Topic summary

The discussion focuses on various methods to repair scratched CDs, particularly those with damage on the silver side. Users suggest several home remedies and chemical solutions, including using flannel with thick green tea essence for polishing, toothpaste (both regular and mixed with castor oil), and car polishing pastes like Farecla and Pace. Other methods mentioned include using 2000 grit sandpaper followed by polishing paste, dishwashing liquid, and window cleaner. Some users recommend utilizing CD recovery software like CDcheck or trying to read the disc in a more sensitive CD/DVD player. Additionally, cleaning the disc with special cloths for LCD monitors and treating it with warm water are suggested. Caution is advised regarding the print side of the disc, as scratches there can hinder recovery efforts.
