    Hello everyone

Does anyone know how to polish scratched CDs?
I do not know if it is possible to save discs in this way, and if so, what to polish them with and how and whether it is possible to polish all discs, or maybe in the case of CD-R and CD-RW you need special methods?
Maybe someone knows other ways to remove scratches!

It used to be done with silicon blaizer (a product of crap amway). You can try to use car polish (not polish !!!), but it requires a lot of caution. Only the lower part of the plate is polished (do not touch the upper part).

If the tile is scratched, only I wash it with soap and dry it. Then you just need to wipe it clean of the tarnish (stone from the pipes). I put the prepared disc into the CD-ROM. I only do this with very scratched tiles and it usually helps.

Or maybe wash with Ludwik? Then there is no raid on the stone. Or in distilled water. But that won't help very scratched discs anyway.

    Hello
Commercially available kits for the regeneration of compacts. In such a set we will find very fine sandpaper (there is no such paper in the market), and depending on the set, appropriate chemicals. The procedure looks like this. Gently grind the CD (we get rid of delicate scratches), then apply a preparation that fills the gaps, then another preparation that protects the surface of the CD.

The basket of such a set, which in total is enough for quite a lot of CDs, is about PLN 40.
I think it's worth it, depends what you want to get back? Some important data, or maybe pirated games ;-) ))

I'm talking about CD Audio discs that already have their own and are a bit scratched. When playing normally, everything is fine (of course, in CD-ROM, in ordinary players it is different)
but after ripping to MP3 there is a problem, there is crackling and it is not suitable for listening. I tried different programs but the scratches are too big.
Besides, for the future, it would be good to know how to deal with this problem, because you never know if (accidentally) some important disc will be scratched!

I do it green polishing paste and a small felt disc on the motor is ok a bit you have to be careful not to melt the plate but it really works 100%

I use toothpaste - you need to gently spread a small amount of psasta dissolved in a small amount of water and wait for a while until it dries. Then rub it with a soft cloth to a shine. This method allows you to remove small scratches. However, the disc will not regain its original splendour.

The paste is ok, but you only need to polish it in one direction, then the scratches are arranged in one line, not causing large refractions of the laser light later.

Hmm, a piece of leather works very well. With larger scratches it is a bit laborious, but when polishing by hand, there is no problem of burning the tile, because then the only method is to buy a new one.

I also used green paste, but I polished it by hand - the effect is first class.

Well, just remember to drive from the center of the plate to the edge along the radius, not around the perimeter, because you can make the situation even worse

I don't know how it relates to discs, but jewelers, and especially watchmakers, used a leather dial and soaked it with toothpaste for glass - the better ones use special pastes of a similar consistency, leather and paste must be wet, and the final polishing took place in water

I put sandpaper 1200 on the oscillating sander and polish it wet, then the felt also on the oscillating and special paste for wet polishing of car paint. Brick effect - NO SCRATCHES! Just with plenty of water! Then the plastic won't melt... I used to use "tempo" instead of this paste, but it had to be dry and I had to do it by hand - it didn't give such great results...
