    Hello,
I am writing here, I hope that the topic will not discourage anyone - I have a problem with my several-year-old Bosch dishwasher.
After washing, it happens more and more often that the dishes are left with sediment - and not sediment from such normal dirt, but some sand, salt, something like that - some small granules. Concentrated in one place and after rinsing the vessel with water, they do not come off - you only need a tool - a sponge, for example, and it falls off - it is terribly annoying.

Could it be a question of some filter / dishwasher age / type of water?
Should I apply to some website? What could it be?

I use original Calgonit tablets, the device is connected to the water all the time from the same intake, in normal water in the apartment it does not observe this.

I will be very grateful for any hints.

    greetings

Please complete the topic with the model of the dishwasher (E-nr) and complete your post with basic information such as heating and the amount of water consumed.
Without this information, the topic will end up in the trash.

    Hello,

    I have a similar problem with the Bosch SMS58M98EU / 51 dishwasher.

Sometimes a transparent, colorless, brown deposit sticks to me on the dishes (I think that only on glasses in the upper basket, I did not notice it in the lower basket). Re-washing these dishes in the dishwasher will do nothing, even if I put them in the lower basket. You have to wash such dishes by hand with a sponge, because the sediment is really sticky. Today I pulled out all the baskets.

I noticed that in the third basket (for cutlery) on the right, at the very end, in the corner, brown sand is stuck, the rest of the basket is clean. It looks like a pile of sand or dirt. It is sticky and sandy at the same time, something like a coating of cutlets. I have now washed this sediment, but it is difficult to get to the nooks and crannies there and it is troublesome. In the middle basket, I noticed that also on the back of the basket in the right corner there is the same deposit (like brown sand, sometimes colorless transparent) on the metal basket guide. Housing clean lower basket.

I use finish means for washing up, previously tablets attached to the dishwasher, now also finish washing powder. I bought the dishwasher a month ago, so old age is out of the question. I was looking for solutions on the Internet, several people have the same problem and not only with Bosch dishwashers. From what I read, washing the dishwasher with dishwashing liquid does not solve the problem at all (I have not tried it yet), so I am not starting such washing. Why is this deposit only on the right side of the back of the dishwasher in the corner? And it is precisely the vessels on the far right that are covered with this "sand". Not all of them, of course, one or two. As if some stream of sand was cutting through the dishwasher. Dirt in these glasses is on the bottom, on the inside. Of course I pulled out and cleaned the spray arms (they were clean anyway), filter, gaskets. There is salt, there is rinse aid. Or maybe you need to use an additional water filter, but that would be a bit pointless.

I measured the water hardness with the drop method and that's how I set the salt. I also had to adjust the rinse aid because I had a lot of so-called white water, now it's ok.
    Any hints?

And one more question, yesterday I threw in 2 scrambled pans, they did not wash at all, other dishes were washed (bottom basket). Just the egg was stuck. Tiny pans, arranged like plates with a lot of loose. What could be the reason?

The amount of water taken in is normal. I obtained the following results with different loads:
    auto program - 16 l
    turbo - 7l
    auto + vario + 1/2 - 8.5l
    eco + vario - 10.5l
    car - 14l
    pots 70st - 14l

I do not know how heating works, but the steam flows out after the end and the dishes are hot, at least the cutlery, because I take them out almost immediately, they cannot be held in my hands for too long.

    PS.
The rest of the dishes are very clean (sometimes something stuck to it must be wiped down).

    EDIT
Or is it undissolved powder? But why in this corner? Is there any pressure directing everything this way or what. Hmm ...

    I answer regarding my problem:

The model of my dishwasher is: [I will type later]

From what I read, my device is much smaller - it has only two baskets, one on the guide, two sprinklers, one permanently attached at the bottom, the other under the basket on the guides.

The problem with me is that I only see such a sediment in the upper basket. I washed the dishwasher several times with various preparations without effect.
The problem disappears a bit when you pack half the capacity, insert the dishes with a lot of slack. But that's not the point, I used to load a capacity of a dishwasher and a half and figured it out.

I thought maybe that drier on top isn't working, is that possible? I don't know, stands still, doesn't turn, etc?

I think I still have salt, rinse aid as well, finish / calgon / calgonit tablets - I am writing this way because some recommended, but I do not remember what is for the washing machine and what is for the dishwasher. I use the dishwasher recommended by the manufacturer :)

It is possible that one of the spray arms is not working - it is a breakdown of the alternating sprinkler, called by the service technicians the "steering wheel". As a rule, this sprinkler is a very simple device, and it stops when something settles in it. I have a Mastercook - it sometimes gave me a message about the failure of the sprinkler. I took out the contraption, dismantled it, washed it, put it back together and ... now the dishwasher works EXCELLENT - like new.

Check if the upper arm is rotating or not, check in the manual whether (if the upper arm does not rotate) you do not have the 1/2 function turned on, because then only 1 arm can work.

Thank you for the answers, the problem has not disappeared after a long time.
The only thing I noticed is that there are fewer problems mentioned when arranging cups, pots and glasses on the top drawer. At the bottom, it only washes the plates, which is a pain.

hmmm, it is possible, but where do I look for it? The dishwasher is Bosch.

The upper arm seems to be turning - how can I check it? I always use 1/1 - full and high temperature.

    Hello,

There is a way, I called the service for the first time, watched what the guest was doing and then I have done it myself a few times and my dishwasher is 10 years old. It is of course a bosch dishwasher. Namely:
1 Unscrew the cover on the left side.
2 Remove the water tank cross fasteners
3 Take out the water tank (do not be afraid to disconnect it vigorously from the bottom, it is mounted on three seals)
4 Disconnect the hoses (attention may leak water)
5 Remove the bottom part with the orange float (disconnect the electrics first
6 Halve it, smell the muck using different brushes of flat screwdrivers to remove the sludge and limescale.
    7 Fold upside down
8 Switch on an empty dishwasher

I don't remember the model of the dishwasher, but I assume that the others have a similar structure and a similar problem with the white deposit, and the effect as if the upper arm did not rotate, sand on the glasses, water remaining at the bottom of the dishwasher, long operation of the dishwasher without ending the program.

I also suggest cleaning the drain hose.
I've been doing this for years and it's OK. (a service visit costs about PLN 150)

It should be at the beginning - disconnect the electricity !!!

I suggest you consider where the sand may come from
-from water? (if it is a limescale, the white coating will also appear on the door and the propellers will become dull. The limescale will react - dissolve even in vinegar)
    -from the dishes ??
    -with food scraps ??
-so maybe with washing agents. if there is sand, dissolve the cube in a jar of hot water and see how much sediment will remain after it stops, e.g. after an hour ...

and in some dishwashers I take a lot of sand, for example, from the washing pumps. and the fine sand washes the dishes well from any sediment.

I have not solved. It disappeared by itself. The service technician indicated that it is better not to get rid of this dishwasher, because it is quite a successful model.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around a Bosch dishwasher that leaves small granules, resembling sand or salt, on dishes after washing. Users report similar issues, particularly with deposits on glasses in the upper basket. Possible causes include malfunctioning spray arms, particularly the upper arm, and the need for regular cleaning of filters and internal components. Some users suggest that the sediment may originate from the water supply or food scraps.
