    Hello.
How to make the 7-meter LED strip start immediately after switching the switch or activation of the detector?
Currently I have about 2 second lag
    I have everything hooked up
Eliminate 2-Second Lag for 7-Meter LED Strip: LPH-18-12 12V DC Power Supply & 2.4W/m LEDs
    LPH-18-12 12V DC power supply.
    LEDs 2.4W/meter.

You probably won't do anything. The delay is generated by the power supply. You can rebuild the system so that the power supply is permanently powered and the switch behind it (only then do you have energy losses, because the power supply is still on standby) or combine it with a different type of power supply. I would measure what current your LEDs consume and try to use a classic transformer power supply instead of probably a pulsed one.

And what is the difference between a transformer and an impulse one, in general terms, maybe give some indication of the power supply on which there will be no delays. The diodes consume 16.8 W

Switch-mode power supplies are smaller, more efficient, more efficient. They sell most of the time. Each cell phone charger, for example, is a switched-mode power supply. Older power supplies have a heavy and relatively large transformer.

Otherwise. Make sure it's the power supply first. Plug it in briefly and see if that's what it is.

You can eliminate the delay when the power supply is always powered from the mains. The detector at the output of the power supply should switch on a relay that will switch on the LED strip. The switch should also turn on the voltage at the output of the power supply (Assuming that the given power supply will be used)

Today, however, I checked the power supply, I will have a pair of independent led circuits at home, what should I suggest when buying a power supply so that I do not encounter similar delays when buying another power supply

Did you manage the problem somehow? I have the same and am looking for a solution.

Yes, I replaced the power supply with another one and by the way, I will have some separate points with LED lighting at home and let's say 4 power supplies I got one that caused delays

What power supplies are you using now? Can you give some link?

These are the power supplies that I recently bought on Allegro
    MEAN WELL Model - LPV
    LED LPH-18-12
    MPL 20W power supply
    MPL-45-12
and as far as I remember it caused delays
    MEAN WELL Model - LPV

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around eliminating a 2-second lag in a 7-meter LED strip powered by an LPH-18-12 12V DC power supply. Users suggest that the delay is likely caused by the power supply, particularly if it is a switch-mode type. Recommendations include keeping the power supply always powered and using a relay to control the LED strip, or switching to a different type of power supply, such as a classic transformer. One user resolved the issue by replacing their power supply with a MEAN WELL model, specifically the LPV series, which did not exhibit the same delay. The conversation highlights the importance of selecting the right power supply to avoid similar issues in future installations.
