    Hello
I have a problem with starting the Spart ION bike (with power steering).
The battery is housed in a frame and consists of 16 individual R20 Ni-Mh 9000mAh 1.5V cells.

    Connected in series, giving 24V.
They are connected to the PCB shown below.

Starting & Charging SPARTA ION Bike Battery: Ni-Mh 9000mAh R20 Cells, 24V PCB, E0001 Error Starting & Charging SPARTA ION Bike Battery: Ni-Mh 9000mAh R20 Cells, 24V PCB, E0001 Error

The motor, the charger connector, the controller located on the steering wheel, which sets the power of assistance, and the lighting are connected to the same PCB at the same time.

And maybe someone had contact with these bikes, because at the time of pedaling, the only reaction was the appearance of an error on the controller screen indicating a discharged battery - E0001, and the assistance of course does not work. I tried to connect new gel batteries, but the effect is the same.

The service is located about 300 km from me, and to the question of what the repair costs may be, I got the answer:
"It all depends on what you will have to do, from PLN 150 to PLN 1700"

The amount of PLN 1700 concerns the replacement of the bike with a new one.

Maybe someone had contact with this bike and will help?

A lot of this type of damaged bikes is now appearing in PL.
The most common problem is defective batteries, specifically a damaged controller - a printed circuit board. So all links are good, but something fell on the PCB.

Unfortunately, it is impossible to replace the board itself, you have to buy the entire battery. Such a policy of Sparta. The cost is about PLN 1,500 through a bicycle company from Wrocław that is not very favorable to the customer.
The new battery has to be connected to the engine, unfortunately only this "company" can do it - I honestly do not recommend it based on my experience, and they wish for PLN 150 for it. About PLN 10 per minute of work.

The bikes come from the Netherlands. A project was created there to break the monopoly, hack the software so that people do not have to replace the entire batteries, and these break down. So much so that the Dutch suspect it is being done on purpose.

Below is a link to the entire topic in the Netherlands.
Unfortunately, they have not managed it so far, they have been fighting since 2009.
    Link

Maybe some Pole will break it.
The option is to match the Chinese driver, but there is a problem with that, because the motor is three-phase, so the option is a new motor and a new controller.

I am still struggling with two such bikes.

I have the same problem, I'm in the process of repairing. I am interested in whether the electronics inside the battery is physically damaged or is it a software issue? For me, the display shows a fully charged battery and the support does not work, the light switch works. No errors. When I get to something, I will inform you.

How are you gentlemen, someone broke this patent, how to connect the batteries with the engine in this type of Sparta ION mgear bikes? Apart from the service, which wants a lot for the service, if there were even more of these services, but it would be an exaggeration to travel so many kilometers.

I have, maybe a stupid question, but can't this motor be connected "for a short time"? bring out a button under the thumb and in this way start the engine? If the battery is good, the engine is good ... However, I may be wrong.

I have a question about the banana type batteries in Sparta, there are 20 of them each with 1.2 V Ni-MH which gives 24V. The question is how is it with charging such a package without a plate only with a charger, e.g. Li-Ion? I have 29.3 max charging current. The original charger has 34 V or 33 V, I don't remember anymore, but it is probably blocked by the driver. When charging Li-ion 29.3 V 2 A, the battery gets warm, add another 1.2 V cell to increase the possibility of charging? I would like to use this package for another bike with a 24V power supply. Now I have 1.2 V, 20 cells, or 1.4V. A charged cell 20 pieces = gives me 28V max I understand? Add 1 cell, which will increase the charging current to 29.4 V and the charger will stop charging? It will be fine ? Please correct me if I am thinking wrong.

The conclusion is, do not buy this type of bike.
    Car-like problems.
I bought a bike with a DC motor locked to the pedals.
    Advantages:
    - simple controls
    - no communication between the battery and the controller
    - failure of the gears does not necessitate the replacement of the motor and vice versa
    Defects:
    - no energy recovery

    Range approx. 30 km.
    Used, PLN 1000.

This engine, however, has Hall effect sensors. I am in the process of connecting this motor to a Chinese driver, but I have no batteries. As you can see, the electronics are removed from the wheel.

    Hi
Were you able to get it started?

Yes, I was able to start without the Hall effect sensor, but I connected it through the power supply and only for a moment.

Do you have any photos or drawings?
And those halotrons on the plate?

No, I don't have any drawings. I can send a picture of the driver I used, there is described what and how to connect and that's it. It is possible to connect a hall effect sensor in the controller, but you do not have to. All the original electronics have to be thrown out, it is unnecessary. I dropped the topic, I did it a year ago. There is little space in the wheel hub of this bike to pass the cables, and you need 3 cables as phases.

Show, I will have a link, did you change anything in the connection of three phases to the engine?

    Hi
I launched such a bike on a Chinese controller.
I threw out the Sparta / Batavus electronics, and led out 3 cables, because the motor is three-phase and 5 cables from the hall sensors, although these controllers also work without connecting the hall sensors.
Unfortunately, the original worked better. The power steering is not well suited despite the programming options of 3, 5, 7 gears.

Can you describe in more detail how you understand that the controller works worse than the original? And one more thing, since in the original there are only 3 phase wires, why not connect the Chinese driver there, leaving the electronics in the circle?
