This memory supports ONLY paralell reading/programming. Check the Application Note (i.e. AM29F800 : link here - on page 3, internal structure block diagram).

Yes thanks, I was trying to avoid desoldering, I have socket for it and programmer but I was wondering is there some safer and simpler way to program it. Thanks for reply, best regards.
