    Hello,
Yesterday I damaged the glass of the Miele KM 5985 induction hob, chipped the glass on the edge, a few-centimeter crack went from the chip, everything is about 20 cm away from the nearest burner. I am looking for someone who would glue it fairly neatly - Warsaw (around Warsaw) or a cheap spare part, maybe a used glass from a burnt plate. The cost of such a glass in the Miele Dealership - 3200 gross.
Any hint will come in handy

It is not to be glued or repaired, only a new one in the service :(

I also have cracked horns and I am thinking about the UV glue - quite high thermal resistance, and even aquariums are glued with it. Has no one played it?

You can try glue for broken car windows. Properly applied to a clean fracture it may bring the result, but it is probably prolonging the agony.
Or call a glass crack repair company.

I thought about UV glass glue supposedly has high thermal resistance. Because the one for car windows is not really?

There are high-temperature adhesives for fireplace glass (LM) in supermarkets - a small tube for 10-15 PLN.

But lads, however, that glue must be in a liquid, water-like, for it to completely penetrate the crack. It is then hardened with ultraviolet light.
And the glue in the tube is probably some gel or pudding. How will it get inside the crack?

Show a photo of the crack.

The luck is there that there are no progressive scratches, there is only a fracture and that's it. Of course, I have the rest of the puzzle (the top one is just glue by tape) ...

So it's a split, not a cracked crack. It changes things.
Is the glass underneath in the marked place on something, or is there a void of air there?

If I had to fix it, I would take off the glass of the plate. If there is an air gap under the crack, a reinforcing element would have to be added, which would also be glued to the bottom where the crack is.
I would put the plate glass on top of another flat glass pane with foil in between (constant thickness, not some garbage dump).
You would also need to put a strip of foil under the broken piece to compensate for the paint thickness of this white circle - otherwise it will stick at a slightly different angle.
And then gluing as in the video:

I wouldn't worry about the temperature in advance. In induction, the glass does not heat up that much.

Gee! I'm reading this, I'm sitting and thinking how wise these guys are ... seriously, I got very good advice from you here, the idea with sticking the second quick below, I rate it on a scale from 1-10 to 11 !!! The glue for the fireplace glass is also great, unfortunately I could not get it today in bricoman, I will look for leroymerlin and if not, I will risk using this UV-cured glue.

Replace the glass with a new / used one. Any patching is a short-term solution, the entire structure of the glass is already weakened.

I flooded the cavities several times using a UV lamp. Do not buy very expensive glue, because it's not worth it. I bought the one for gluing car windows for PLN 15, the repair cost 2 glues and a UV lamp less than PLN 100, everything works on a glued burner, it does not cook because I have 3 others.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around repairing a damaged glass on a Miele KM 5985 induction hob, which has a chip and a crack. Users suggest that gluing the glass is not a reliable long-term solution, with recommendations for high-temperature adhesives, such as those used for fireplace glass or UV-curable glues. Some participants share their experiences with using car window adhesives, noting that while these can work temporarily, they may not restore the glass's structural integrity. The consensus leans towards replacing the glass entirely, as patching may weaken the overall structure. Users also discuss sourcing affordable replacement parts in the Warsaw region.
