Disconnect the computer from the mains (completely plug), remove the battery and put the jumper on CLEAR BIOS. After a minute, reverse the steps. Note that all settings will be reset to default.

As he wrote hlw ... but I do not recommend removing the battery because it is easy to bend the contacts ... It is better to remove the jumper from the motherboard, it should be next to the battery. in the motherboard book it should write about this jumper "Clear CMOS JUMPER".

hello-if you are afraid of removing jumpers and batteries, there are always "universal passwords" left, although this method is not as effective as the previous one, but completely safe - we can enter passwords indefinitely ... passwords are on the net ... greetings

Hello, put the battery back on the shelf, not these times have been around for a long time. The easiest way for you will be to move the CLEAR CMOS jumper, for this minute also shorten yourself and put the jumper back, then the BIOS settings will be restored to their defaults, however, the settings will be restored to the default configuration. If you do not want to play, enter the BIOS manufacturer (provided when starting the computer), we will give you general passwords.

    Regards Lt.

These are only part of the programs, but most of the time it will be enough.

Just a small but important note: improper use of these programs may damage the BIOS, you do so at your own risk!

Ps. I took some passwords off the BIOS without any loss so far ...

the more so that I do not know which jumper it is, because I do not have a description of the board, and there are 2 or 3 around the battery, none of them clearly signed (e.g. ccj :) )

Topic summary

To remove or crack a BIOS password, several methods are discussed. One common approach is to disconnect the power, remove the motherboard battery, and use the CLEAR CMOS jumper to reset the BIOS settings to default. Caution is advised when handling the battery to avoid bending contacts. Alternatively, users can utilize universal passwords available online, though this method may be less effective. For those preferring software solutions, various tools for BIOS password recovery are recommended, including programs like CmosPwd and WipeBIOS. Users are warned that improper use of these tools can damage the BIOS. Specific universal passwords for Award BIOS are also shared, along with troubleshooting tips for running BIOS recovery programs.
