    Hello everyone,

I’ve got quite a conundrum: following the refurbishment of the lounge, I’ll have around 6–8 independent lighting circuits.
I’d like each of them to be dimmable; I’m planning to achieve this using push-button switches and dimming modules housed in the distribution board (the whole installation will be star-shaped).

My wife wants the system to have a soft fade-in and fade-out function.
Do you know of any specific modules that offer scene dimming and brightening functions, including a gradual fade-in when switched on and a gentle fade-out when switched off?

It would be great if we could also add a MASTER switch to turn off all circuits.

I hadn’t really planned on using PLC modules, due to the cost; I’d also prefer a simple installation

Could you recommend a specific KNX system, provided it’s reasonably easy to programme?
I should also add that it’s important to me that it can be controlled via doorbell switches.

This is at least one solution worth considering.
Personally, I’ve also found solutions using the Velleman VM101 MULTIFUNCTION DIMMER
    http://sklep.avt.pl/p/pl/485978/wielofunkcyjny+sciemniacz.html
And also the F&F SCO-815, which will be available from the new year, although the dimming only works whilst the switch is held down, which won’t be entirely practical.

I reckon I’ll definitely go for one of these solutions – I’m sure I’ll find the budget for it :) Do you have any other ideas?

I’ll write down exactly what functionality I need once again (the things one does to please one’s wife)
I want to control the lights on 4–8 circuits using a two-way switch. The most important thing is that it has a soft-on and soft-off function. Holding the switch down for a long time should brighten or dim the light.
A memory function and the option to add a master switch to turn off all circuits would be welcome.
The Lutron controller :) perfectly meets these requirements, but you can probably guess why I’ll be giving that one a miss – I’m simply looking for a cheaper alternative.
