    Hello
    I am carrying out a major renovation of my house, including a new electrical installation. I am an automation specialist by profession and would like to equip my house with as yet unspecified A&E points (temperature sensors, window opening sensors, roll-down shutter control, thermostatic valve control, etc.). Only the wiring for now, the rest successively in the future.
    The concept is to place in each room a self-produced module for data collection and control (AVR uC) which would communicate serially via Modbus with the central PLC.
    I'd like to have a remote view of what's going on in the house, so I'd either link the PLC to a computer with some simple SCADA, but ideally the controller would have ethernet on board and web server options.
    The budget I want to spend on the controller is no more than £1000 gross (including programming cable if you need to buy one)
    Sterbox would be ideal if there was an option for MODBUS serial communication with my modules, but unfortunately there is no such option in the current version.
    Can anyone help? I've been looking for a long time and haven't found anything.

    Greetings

    ps. you could still dream of a 1-wire on board controller:)

    Hello,
    I recommend controllers from EL-Piast, Polish production, they have a built-in web server, they have Modbas and some more communication protocols.

    I haven't heard of these controllers but they look interesting, I just wonder what the price ratio is.
    For now, I have focused on finding a controller with an integrated Modbus serial and Ethernet interface. So far a failure, it's hard to find one up to 1000PLN
    kind regards

    I used to have a price list for a whole range of these controllers, however I can't find it now.... I emailed a friend of this company's representative, but from what I remember they cost a little over a thousand....

    already found out :)
    PLC ELP11R32-V(H) PLN 945 net
    PLC ELP11R32-V(H) 1800 zł net

    My current favourite is the LG starter kit (LS IS) for £999 net:
    XBC-DR20SU - PLC main module 12 inputs, 18 relay outputs;
    XBO-AH02A - expansion module: 1 universal analogue input: 0-10VDC, 4-20mA, 0-20mA, 1 universal analogue output: 0-10VDC, 4-20mA, 0-20mA;
    XBL-EMTA - ETHERNET communication module;
    XBO-RTCA - real time clock module;
    USB-301A - programming cable;
    Software CD (and yes it is free ;)

    Price-wise it doesn't look too bad. Serial Modbus should work. It looks like you can't use function blocks, but you can live without that.

    cheers

    The controller is already on its way.
    Since LG's technical department has been unable to answer a simple technical question for 3 days, I gave up on their offer because I would be on my own in case of problems.
    I decided to go with FATEK, in the multiproject I bought a starter kit with FBs-20MC controller, a memory card with a cable, plus a 2xRS485 communication module and with shipping I paid 780 PLN gross.
    The promotion was until the end of 2012, but there were still 2 such kits left. Now there is one.

    Greetings
