i have a few questions for those proficient in the subject of PLCs. I'm a bit green when it comes to types of equipment.... I am looking for a cheap solution to implement in the installation (the installation will be done from scratch) of a flat. The number of output inputs I will need is about 20/20. I would like to control e.g. lights, roller shutters. I would like to use a tablet for control. (connecting via ethernet).

I have found a fairly cheap sterbox control solution, for £1000 starter kit internet support .... i guess that is all I would like to achieve, but maybe it is better to buy a used s7-200 controller with an ethernet module or LOGO with a similar module for about 1000 PLN? (in these cases will it be possible to control from the tablet function? if so, on what principle?)

S7-1200 + I/O module. It has a built-in webserver and an Ethernet socket. In addition, there are 230V versions with relay outputs, so for socket control it is just right. There are also two 0-10V analogue inputs. The cost is a little more than £1,000, but the controller has everything you need.

And you need to buy a display and a cable and programme.

    Costs skyrocket.....

For small domestic applications, I suggest something really small, programmed directly from the unit, requiring no additional displays.

    Alpha 2, Easy etc.

The S7-1200 is a really powerful PLC for industrial applications..., it will go to waste at home.

    Greetings

I have one at home in a block of flats ( s7-1200 ) and it doesn't get wasted. For a while without a display - access via wifi in two ways - HTML page in the controller and a program in android on the s7. Basic functions plus simple media measurement. Access is and from the phone, from the PC as well as from the already normal ktp600.

Basically the biggest advantage over sterbox is the total scaling and any algorithm. I have both the history of individual events and performances, temperature and humidity trends ( just not in HTML - I couldn't do it) etc.

i absolutely agree, the s7-1200 is already a bit more expensive, plus the input/output module it will come to 2 thousand ... ... is it worth it? and is there not a cheaper solution...

Buddy Clarker74 can we ask you about the use of automation in your flat, i.e. what equipment you use, how many points you control, what sensors you use, etc.?
Do you have any installation design or information you used to make your project ?

Thank you in advance for your reply.

    hello
don't want to start a similar topic so i will write here.
i am going to expand in the near future and I was thinking of choosing a controller with the possibility of controlling things such as gas cooker, roller shutters, gate and garage door and aquarium with one program...I have been looking at sterbox, fatek...and do they all need additional cables??because the distances are long....

The siemenst controller is not everything. Then there's the TIA Portal software. and costs skyrocket.
in building automation, Wago is a good solution, but there you also pay for the software. See kinco controllers. Apparently they have low prices.

    I also recommend Wago,
you can buy a starter kit - it comes complete with software then.
I have two *-841 and *-881 at home, much nicer w/ me than the Siemens;)
    The prices are lower too.

*-841 I managed to buy for 400zl with modules on allegro used, *-881 I took new from distributor price ~2000zl.
But that was a few years back.

I recommend to buy modules on allegro/ebay.
    I picked up a rs232/485 card for 100zł, AI 0-10 module also for 100zł:)
I measure temperature with probably a PT1000 (I'd have to check at home if it wasn't a PT100 because I can't remember anymore). I built my own card which, with 8 DO outputs and one AI input, allows 256 points to be measured cyclically. Unfortunately the AI inputs and outputs are the most expensive :(

You might still be interested in the FATEK - a friend has one on fateku and also praises it.
He has done temperature measurements with a modbus-1wire converter. And ds18b20 thermometers:)

Personally, the relay card option doesn't appeal to me - I prefer the usual IO and finders next to the es for each circuit.

    Luke.
