As there is a lot of talk about taking devices off the mains(standby TV, chargers), an idea came to me of cutting off power to certain circuits via the alarm. E.g. I switch on the alarm when leaving the house and, apart from powering the alarm, fridge, gate, pond pump, etc., there would be no power in the other sockets. Additionally, a device accidentally left on would not draw power.

Is it possible to use electronic relays for this purpose ? I think a normal contactor would draw more current than an electronic one and it would be easier to control an electronic one e.g. voltage 3-32 v.
Can it be controlled directly from the alarm or do you need to make some kind of separator ?

The electronic relay has an isolated input from the switched circuit

When using relays, it is important to bear in mind their rated current carrying capacity and resistance to short-circuit currents.
