What is the actual load capacity of the YKY 5x6mm2 cable? When looking for it, I found very divergent values from 35A to 59A. And thus what protection for this 32A cable can I go crazy and give 40A. The cable length is about 40m, most of it in the ground and partially in the joint between the bricks under the mortar layer.

And this was probably due to the insulation material: PVC, XLPE, EPR
YKY is the old Polish designation and defines PVC insulation, and for this you should choose the long-term load capacity, preferably from the tables of standard 60364-5-523. Long-term current carrying capacity of cables or a newer edition of this standard.
So from memory it will be about 40A for the cable laid completely in the ground, and the protection for this cable is 32A. If the cable is routed in a different environment (even partially), then its load capacity should be reduced, due to the higher environmental temperature (20 degrees C for the ground, 30 degrees C in the air). In the standard, everything is served as if on a tray.
