    Hello,
I have had a car Renault Laguna 2.0dci 150KM from 2008 with a mileage of 195 thousand for a long time and I do not know what, how much should I replace the timing? If anyone could see it, I am asking for help because nowhere have I found a specific answer.

Do you know the history of the car? the one confirmed by the website (not by the book)?
If not, then for peace of mind, replace the set.

According to the manufacturer's recommendations, the first replacement can be even after 90-120 thousand (in my case, the first exchange was after 120 thousand), the second replacement - the interval is much shorter, even after 60 thousand. (at least for me it was like that in the VW MK4 ASZ engine).

There is still time to replace without mileage - the rubber is aging, so the belt should be replaced after 4 years

For your own peace of mind, replace this timing, because anything can happen with this mileage ...

Even if someone changed the belt, it is not sure that he changed the rollers, pompe ect ...

Where do you see the belt over there? The chain is there.

    How the chain changes things

Yes, a chain, and I do not know the history of the car at all. Does anyone know any guidelines about how much this timing in these engines? Pompe should also be replaced immediately?

It's a different matter with the chain and it doesn't drive the pump, so you don't have to change it.
Some engines do not have a replacement limit and if you stretch too much, the computer will catch it or simply make noise. I will check and let you know what the manufacturer recommends in your engine.

I checked and Renault has no exchange limit, so you can drive, but certainly not a million km ;-)
Always fill with good oil because of the slides and the hydraulic chain tensioner and drive normally / it means do not change gears when the tachometer ends / you will ride for a long time ... :-)
    Greetings

Thanks a lot for your help, you helped a lot. The mere news that I do not have to do timing is nice because I always have a few hundred in my pocket. I hope that other users of these engines will find this topic useful. Regards Sebastian

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around the timing replacement interval and procedure for the 2008 Renault Laguna 2.0dci 150HP. The original poster inquires about the timing replacement due to the car's high mileage of 195,000 km. Responses indicate that while the Laguna uses a timing chain rather than a belt, there are no specific replacement intervals mandated by the manufacturer. However, it is advised to monitor the chain for signs of wear and to ensure regular oil changes to maintain the hydraulic tensioner. The consensus is that if the car's history is unknown, it is prudent to check the condition of the timing chain but not necessarily replace it unless issues arise.
